Braun, Victor W. "Vic"

Victor W. "Vic" Braun, 80, Green Bay, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, following a brief illness. He was born Sept. 1, 1928, in Wabeno, to Charles and Elsie (Fieck) Braun. On Oct. 30, 1948, Victor married Rose Rhoades in Green Bay. Vic served in the National Guard in the 32nd Division Infantry as a tank commander. For 25 years he worked for the Green Bay Police Department and was promoted to Sergeant-Lieutenant Detective. Vic was a member of the Green Bay Police Benevolent Association. He enjoyed many years at the family cottages up north. Following retirement Vic and Rose spent their winters in Texas for 18 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Rose; his children and their spouses, Ron Braun and his fiancee, Wendy Hussin, Vicki Buntin and her special friend, Jeff Hanson, Debi and Tom Maloney, Randy and Michelle Braun, Brenda Braun and her special friend, Edd Jankowski; Vic's grandchildren, Richelle, Jason, Maralyn, Emily, Taylor, Jessica, Sara, Dylan; his brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Babbs Braun; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers and sisters, Leroy, Charlie, Emma, Elsie, Ruby and Edward.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday. The Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Steven Fewell officiating.
